Check a suspicious bank SMS before you click or confirm.
Fake bank messages usually create fear: blocked card, suspicious payment, account suspension or urgent identity check. The safest first move is to verify through the official bank app or a number you already trust.
High-risk SMS patterns
- A deadline such as 10 minutes, today only or permanent suspension.
- A link that does not exactly match the bank domain.
- Requests for PIN, password, card number, code or remote access.
- A follow-up call claiming to be fraud support after the SMS.
